About Country Picture Framing

Country Picture Framing which is based at Perranporth on the north coast of Cornwall, has been established for over ten years and is owned by John and Gill Turner.  We provide both bespoke and contract framing and do a lot of work for artists and photographers as well as the general public.  Whoever walks through the door will get the same high standard of professional but friendly advice. The business is very much based upon the notion of the importance of service and being reliable as well as the excellent craftsmanship and quality of the finished product. The large selection of frames means there are frames to suit all tastes including lots of natural wood frames  in attractive timbers such as ash, pine, tulipwood and obeche which come from sustainable sources. We always try and stay ahead of market trends and although natural woods are extremely popular in Cornwall we have seen a growing trend for modern metallics for contemporary and trend finishes.

There are fashions in framing like everything else and we are always getting new mouldings in to keep up with them although we tend to stay away from the more extreme designs. The objects we frame are a different matter. As well as the more usual paintings, photographs and needlework, we have been asked to frame all sorts of things and  are often working out new ways of framing unusual objects. An enormous Indian prayer mat with numerous tassels was a recent challenge but probably the most unusual object we were asked to do was a harvest loaf.   We have framed paintings of and for Cornwall's most well known artists such as Terry Frost.  The largest painting we framed was a work by Robert Lenkiewicz in his traditional black frame.  It had glass as well and was so heavy  took two of us to carry it out of the workshop!

We have a large dry mounting machine and aim to build up the dry mounting side as we believe there is a large untapped market. They plan make beautiful hand framed mirrors to customers’ requirements. We can actually provide them at very little more cost than the large mirrors people buy at the D.I.Y stores.

If you need a work framed, why not contact Country Picture Framing on 01872 571820 and take advantage of both their expertise and excellent craftsmanship. There is a frame to suit every picture. Sometimes it just takes a little time to find it but we are always willing to spend a bit of time with the customer to get it absolutely right . For further information you can contact us.

Country Picture Framing has moved to Perranporth and is officially eco friendly!

The business is ecologically sound in so many ways such as only using timber from sustainable sources and rejecting any rainforest timbers such as ramin. The most noise pollution produced is from radio 2 and the staff live fairly locally so don’t have to drive to far to work. We recycle waste glass and card and any waste moulding is given to friends with log burners.
